It was around this point  that we encountered a small knot of Rotarians who we’d slowly been passing here and there along the path. They were discussing the merits of continuing. It would seem the path ahead was too steep for them. They went through the trees and we later saw them while eating our lunch from the high vantage point at the end of the ridge.  They were half way down the hill and had gathered into a knot again discussing something while a couple of them admired the view, albeit looking in the wrong direction.
