RPDL of the week
It was around this point that we encountered a small knot of Rotarians who we’d slowly been passing here and there along the path. They were discussing the merits of continuing. It would seem the path ahead was too steep for them. They went through the trees and we later saw them while eating our lunch from the high vantage point at the end of the ridge. They were half way down the hill and had gathered into a knot again discussing something while a couple of them admired the view, albeit looking in the wrong direction.
must be spring…
…or something approximating it. The plants are appearing and it’s raining. That distinguishes it from a) autumn – the plants are disappearing and it’s raining; b) summer – the plants have appeared and it’s raining and c) winter – no plants but it’s raining anyway (or snowing).
However, I notice now that the met office has picked up its ball and run off crying because everyone was calling it names over its long range forcasting skills, that one of the myriad long range weather predicting organisations has stepped into the breach and gone for guessing at a barbecue summer this year instead. I’m sceptical but you never know.
volcanocam
webcam link for the eruption at Eyjafjallajökull mentioned earlier in the week. Relax and idly watch the clouds billow into the sky. No dramatic flames or anything but quite relaxing to watch for a while.

volcano
Having been thinking about a holiday to Iceland (the country not the store – though i hear they do excellent escorted tours of the frozen veg freezers) I’m watching with a small amount of interest the Volcanic eruption that began early sunday morning at Eyjafjallajökull. From the couple of pictures and the video that there is it looks quite spectacular even if it does seem quite inaccessible, and there seems to be the possibility that it will trigger the much nastier volcano that sits nearby.
As with a lot of natures wonders, fascinating from a distance, probably not as nice close up.
anyway, a few links
